This practice resource forms part of a series of guidance created in partnership with the Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation (DSF). It provides a non-exhaustive list of examples of reading assessment tools Australian secondary schools can use in a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework.
These tools have been evaluated according to our recommended criteria for choosing reading assessments. However, inclusion on this list doesn’t indicate endorsement by AERO or DSF. Schools are encouraged to perform their own evaluation to determine suitability and whether additional assessment tools are needed, as well as to consider the qualifications required by staff members administering these tests.
