About this submission
The Productivity Commission's inquiry into early childhood education and care (ECEC) will:
- examine the ECEC sector
- consider cost and availability barriers that affect access to ECEC services
- identify ways to support better outcomes for children and families.
AERO's submission draws on evidence to outline current issues and opportunities to strengthen ECEC system architecture towards better access and more equitable outcomes for children and their families – especially those experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage.
This evidence includes:
- a literature review of Australian and international research
- a landscape analysis of the ECEC system
- lessons from collaborations with policymakers, peak organisations and ECEC service providers.
